Phi Phi Nightlife
Come sundown, Phi Phi's signature drink - mickey-sized bottles of gin, vodka or whiskey with a bucket of ice and mixers – appear for sale along the sidewalks. This is a popular drink among the many backpackers visiting Phi Phi.
Nightlife is fairly wild on the island with beach fire-dancers, a few live bands and a lot of people milling around looking for the action. The Reggae Bar in the centre of the isthmus is popular and features Thai Boxing and the occasional westerner pulling on the boxing gloves. Just upstairs from the Reggae Bar is a club – the only dancing venue on the island (apart from the beach that is) and Phi Phi's alleys are lined with good pubs and bars.
Lively
If you're looking for raunchy nightlife you've come to the right place on Phi Phi. The streets are fairly heaving on a busy night here and the bars as lively as you want them. There's something about island nightlife – people let it all hang out and get wild and free, and nowhere more so than on Phi Phi.
In the labyrinth of back streets that make up Ton Sai village you'll find that special place to party. The choice is so wide that it's impossible not to have a truly great evening out. Laid Back
On the other side of the nightlife coin, Phi Phi has lots of bars in which to chill out. Ambient music and floor cushions are the order of the day and you will find bars such as these in Loh Dalum Bay.
Sunflower bar, at the viewpoint end of the beach is a good place to chill and if you return back along the beach you'll find the right spot to suit your taste. At the quiet western end of Tonsai Bay there's a cocktail terrace in front of Phi Phi Island Cabana Hotel which is popular with older visitors. (Read more...)
