Adventure seekers will love Krabi! This place
has everything! Kayaking trips in mysterious caves, snorkelling
around offshore islands, sailing around a coastline of soaring cliffs,
birdwatching, island hopping and sightseeing are just a few. In
the interior, the two predominantly mainland national parks, Khao
Phanom Bencha and Than Bokk-horani, offer eco tours and elephant
trekking. Take a swim in waterfalls, explore unusual caves, or go
trekking off the beaten track...
Here's a selection......
On Land

Krabi province contains superb natural scenery with jungle covered
limestone cliffs, rock formations, hot springs and mangroves as
well as islands and beaches. Distinct from the rest of Thailand,
with influences from Malaysia, the local culture has retained
many of its traditions and remains largely unaffected by tourism
making the area quite unique.
Tours are available, (mostly in Land Rover type vehicles) which
explore the countryside, travelling on back roads, though small
villages, oil palm and rubber plantations, hot springs and jungle
trails. Tours usually include a the trip through the mangroves
which have their own unique eco-system with some cave exploration.
Specialist activity tours, like canoeing in the river systems
and elephant trekking, are also available. Most include transfers
(land and sea) lunch and National Park entrance fees (applicable
to virtually all of Krabi province)
On Water

Visit
some of the beautiful islands surrounding Krabi by taking a day
cruise. One day trips include stopovers at Phi Phi Island, or
Lanta Island with swimming and snorkel stops at secluded beaches.
Lunch provided - all on comfortably equipped boats.
For something a bit different, why not try a trip on a wooden
junk? These beautifully crafted boats provide travellers with
a really unique experience guaranteed to relax.
Tours presently operate from Phuket and Krabi. Those who have
limited time can join the cruise for 1 leg of the journey - either
from Krabi or PP Island. The cruise provides ample opportunity
for swimming, snorkelling, and lay overs at some of the most scenic
beaches in the area.
