Koh Chang Beaches
Koh Chang still has some deserted beaches that are largely untouched by the tourist trail, mostly on the eastern coast of the island fringing small fishing villages and secluded bays, an area still dominated by agriculture .
Travellers will find it difficult to get accommodation around this part of the island, as most of the beach huts, guesthouses and hotels are on the more touristy west coast, where beaches such as Had Sai Khao, Laem Chaichet and Kae Bae can be found, awash with a diverse mix of tourists. What to Do in Koh Chang
Koh Chang is definitely an island characterized by unique experiences, whether attending a monkey school, snorkeling, tending to an elephant for the day or watching a sunset, you certainly won't forget your time spent here in a hurry!
The majority of tourists flock to the west coast where bars, restaurants and accommodation are plentiful and the island ambience is more upbeat. Dining & Restaurants in Koh Chang
As the island has become more developed, simultaneously dining and recreational choices have become more diverse in an effort to cater to the needs of the international traveller. Regardless, Thai cuisine on the island is still abundant and very tasty.
As is often the case in Thailand, the street vendors and market stalls serve some of the most delicious fare. International dishes can be found at most beach bungalows and resorts, and the majority of island restaurants will feature the latter on their menus. Koh Chang Nightlife
Thailand's vivacious and somewhat legendary nightlife is alive and well on Koh Chang, featuring everything from old school euro-rave venues, go-go bars, to the more relaxed beach bars where camp fires and cushions make for a great lounging and socialising experience. At least one of the island venues will appease your preference to nightlife.
Don't expect too much in way of comparison to Patong or Bangkok nightlife. Whilst Koh Chang still has lively areas, particularly around the backpacking quarters where beach parties go on until the early hours and full-moon parties have been known to happen, it is still slightly tamer then these party hubs.
