Golden Buddha Beach Resort is situated on the west side on the Island of Koh Phra Thong, two hours drive north of Phuket. With three small stilt fishing villages and one other small resort on the Island, we strive to keep the land around Golden Buddha in its natural state and by blending in with the flora and fauna here. The resort sponsors a Sea Turtle Conservation project, a coral reef watch and mangrove conservation project. The resort has several different styles of accommodation to offer, from simple bungalows to grander Thai style houses. They are all owned by individual nature loving people from around the world, who purchased blocks of land that are for sale in the resort grounds. This resort is of a high-standard, with foreign managers who love nature and providing good service to guests. They also offer several yoga retreats each year, led by well known instructors, and diving trips to the Surin Islands. In fact, it is the only resort in Thailand that can offer day trips to the Surin Islands, otherwise visitors must go on a live-aboard dive boat to visit these incredible reefs and sea mounts.

About Khao Lak (Nearby Phuket)
Just 1 hour north of Phuket Island, in mainland Phang Nga province, Khaolak is a beautiful area with long, long stretches of sandy beach fringed by the mountains of the surrounding national parks. More low-key than Phuket, it's a place to take it easy, read a book and get back to nature with a few comforts! Recently "discovered" it offers nature lovers an unspoilt landscape of beaches, jungle covered mountains, forested valleys, mangroves and estuaries.
