North of the city towards Bangkok International Airport is the
area known as Lad Prao. Here you'll find Chatuchak weekend market
with over 15,000 stalls selling everything from jeans to ceramics,
plants and animals. Great for bargain hunting and very popular with
both locals and visitors so it gets very crowded. Hot and sticky
and requires some stamina, but fun. Easy access by Skytrain to Mochit.
More comfortable shopping in an air-conditioned environment, can
be found at Central Department Store and Ladprao Shopping Centre.
All the usual modern department store goods. Good access to the
airport if you want to do some last minute shopping.
