General Description  

Inspired by the calm and peaceful atmosphere of Pai, Baan Krating Pai is located on nutrient rich soil where homegrown vegetable and fields of jasmine rice flourish. Beautiful, lush gardens surround the secluded wooden bungalows. Large open windows and simple Thai decor ensure space and comfort - Thai style with all essential amenities. The town of Pai is known as one of the most tranquil and scenic towns in Northern Thailand. Serving as a home of a diverse group of mountain tribes that include Shan, Karen, Haw Hmong, Muslims from Myanmar and Yunanese Chinese, Pai is truly an undiscovered utopia.

Krating Pub and Restaurant serving local Northern cuisine and preparing homegrown vegetable upon guests on request. Hours of operation from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm (due to opening in October 2004).

About Mae Hong Son:

Mae Hong Son is a picturesque, mountainous northern province bordering Myanmar (Burma) to the west and the north. The area has many Burmese influences reflected in the various hilltribes and different temple styles. The province has great natural beauty with rugged mountains, waterfalls and caves. The main city, also called Mae Hon Son is also referred to as the "City of Three Mists" after the morning mists which settle in November and December and the enigmatic mist generated from the rain in the monsoon season. In addition to the impressive natural scenery, one of the big attractions of Mae Hong Son Province are the sunflower fields near Khun Yuam about 60 km south of Mae Hong Son town, which bloom in November.
